About Cordial
our story
Tristan and Jason first crossed paths on heritage building projects in London and worked with each other for over 10 years. It is that trust in each other's ability that fostered a long term working relationship. Over years of working together, they realised they shared the same belief: development should respect history, value people, and deliver homes that last.
Tristan, a chartered structural engineer, is known for solving complex challenges with clarity and precision. He brings deep technical knowledge, an eye for design detail, and a passion for preserving the character of old buildings while making them fit for modern living.
Jason, with a background in contracting and project management, is the expert hand that keeps teams aligned and projects moving. He’s driven by a commitment to craftsmanship and to creating environments where every contributor feels respected and supported - from consultants to tradespeople.
Together, they founded Cordial with the ambition to create “something unique”. A development company where people, heritage, and quality sit at the heart of every decision. Within three years, their shared vision has grown into an award-winning business, with projects that speak for themselves and relationships that last beyond the build.
Jason brings a wealth of experience as a contractor and project manager, from restoring high-end London homes to leading the transformation of large-scale residential developments. With a Masters in Building Surveying, his strength lies in pulling together teams and ensuring that every stage of a project runs smoothly, on time, and with care.
What drives Jason is his belief that great buildings come from great collaboration. He’s hands-on, practical, and people-focused - whether guiding consultants, managing trades, or making sure the finished home works as beautifully as it looks.
Outside of work, Jason’s creativity extends beyond construction: he’s often found rebuilding old Land Rovers, making furniture from reclaimed timber, or supporting his local rugby club. It’s this mix of craftsmanship, leadership, and energy that underpins his role at Cordial.

Tristan is a Chartered Structural Engineer with over 20 years of experience across the UK and abroad. After starting his career at Arup and later founding his own practice, Toynbee Associates, he’s worked on everything from London basements to landmark restoration projects.
What sets Tristan apart is his passion for heritage and his ability to make complex engineering challenges simple and solvable. He believes old buildings deserve new life, and that thoughtful design can make the impossible possible. At Cordial, Tristan brings technical rigour, an eye for detail, and a collaborative approach to shaping design teams and guiding long-term vision.
Away from the desk, Tristan is an avid cyclist - once a road and mountain bike racer, now tackling long-distance endurance rides. His love of endurance and persistence echoes his professional ethos: steady, focused, and committed to the finish.
